Add, hide, re-order answers in an existing question

To add answers in an existing question:

  1. On My Surveys page, click the survey title (or the edit icon).
  2. Locate the question you want to change and click Edit
  3. In the list of answers edit items directly to change existing answers and values.
  4. To add answer choices to this question click Add More Answer Choices
  5. Enter one new answer per line.
  6. Use and to adjust answer positions.
  7. Click Save Changes

To hide existing answer choices:

  1. On your home page, locate and open a survey in the survey editor.
  2. Locate the question you want to change and click Edit .
  3. Check Hide Answer to the right of the Answer Choice. screen »

    PsychData shades the answer to indicate hidden answers. screen »

Note: Hidden answers--

-- do not display to participants

-- retain answer values

-- include data in data downloads

-- can be purged using Reset Data Structure

To change a question's answer order:

  1. On your home page, locate and open a survey in the survey editor.
  2. Locate the question you want to change and click Edit . screen »
  3. Drag an answer up or down in the list of answers.
  4. Click Save Changes

NOTE: This action changes the question's data structure because re-ordered answers retain their default answer values.

In the image above the default answer value for the "b" answer choice is "2". When the answer is moved the value remains "2" to retain the meaning of existing data. To reset the data structure of re-ordered questions in your survey, use Reset Data Structure.
